  • Flathead Lake Brewing Company 116 Holt Drive Bigfork, MT, 59911 United States (map)

Join us for Science on Tap, Thursday, March 7 at 6:30 pm. March’s speaker is National Geographic author, Doug Chadwick.

His talk will be on "The Nature of Wolverines and the Nature in Us."

Douglas H. Chadwick is a wildlife biologist who studied mountain goat ecology and social behavior atop the Crown of the Continent for seven years. He has since worked as a natural history journalist, producing hundreds of magazine articles, many of them for the National Geographic Society, on subjects from snow leopards to great whales. He has also written 16 books, three of them (on wolverines, Gobi grizzly bears, and the nature of nature) for Patagonia. Chadwick is a founding Board member of the Vital Ground Foundation, a conservation land trust (www.vitalground.org), and serves on the Board of the Liz Claiborne Art Ortenberg Foundation, which supports wildlife research and community conservation programs throughout the world (www.LCAOF.org.)

Science on Tap is an informal community gathering to discuss science around the lake, region, world… and sometimes beyond. We invite local scientists and researchers in our community to discuss and present their work and results in ways that are easy to understand and light on data and graphs. This is a fun, family-friendly event in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Bring your curiosity and enjoy yourself!

Brought to you by the Flathead Lakers, Flathead Lake Biological Station, and the FLBC Pubhouse
