Welcome Alyssa Schafer

Alyssa Schafer is serving an 11-month AmeriCorps term with the Flathead Lakers.  Among other things, she will be assisting with our annual Becoming Watershed Citizens field trips for local 3rd and 5th graders and Flathead Lake swim beach water quality monitoring. Her position is shared with the Flathead Lake Biological Station where she is helping with the Flathead Lake Aquatic Research Education program.

Alyssa is a recent college graduate from Colorado State University with degrees in Ecosystem Science & Sustainability and Spanish. She is from Austin, Texas and has a passion for ecotourism and environmental communication. Alyssa loves to travel and studied abroad in both Panama and Spain during college. Her love for going new places is what brought her to Montana, and she hopes to explore the Flathead Watershed area as much as possible while she is serving her term here.
