Standing Strong for Montana’s Water Quality Standards

The Flathead Lakers are working alongside partners, including the Clark Fork Coalition, to defend Montana’s Numeric Nutrient Water Quality Standards. These science-based limits protect rivers and lakes from excess nitrogen and phosphorus — pollutants that can fuel harmful algal blooms, harm fish, and degrade drinking water.

Efforts are underway statewide to weaken these protections. We believe this would have long-term negative impacts on Flathead Lake and our watershed. We’re speaking out to ensure these standards remain in place and are enforced.
