Flathead Lake Swim Guide sampling begins

Dana Sampling 2.jpg

Since 2017, Flow Swimmers have been sampling the recreational water quality of Flathead Lake’s swimming beaches. Their goal is to reduce the risk of water-borne illnesses due to open water swimming.

Flathead Lake’s swimming areas are exceptionally clean, and this group helps monitor the water quality, and share the information on Swim Guide. The Swim Guide is a website and smartphone app that helps you find the closest beaches, and let you know whether they are safe for swimming.

This season's sampling begins on June 28, and includes 16 beaches around the lake.

This work is made possible by the CSKT Natural Resource Department, Flathead Lake Biological Station, Alpine Landscape Design, Glenn Malloy of UBS, and, us, the Flathead Lakers.
