• Flathead Basin Commission. An agency of the State of Montana, created by the legislature to address water quality and related issues within the Flathead Basin. Current information on Cline Mining’s proposed coal mine in the North Fork, and on British Petroleum’s interest in exploring for coalbed methane in the North Fork.

• U.S. Energy Information Administration Coal Pages. The best site on the internet for unbiased information on coal.

• Flathead Coalition. Founded in the mid-1970s to alert Flathead residents to the threat of coal mines in British Columbia. Still active.

• Gravel. Created by the North Fork Preservation Association, comprising North Forkers and associates. Maintains an extensive collection of news reports, etc., on the issue.
